had better (spesso usato nella forma contratta 'd better) è seguito dall'infinito senza to: You'd better wait for a couple of days, faresti bene ad aspettare un paio di giorni (non You'd better to wait); You'd better read the contract carefully before you sign it (non You'd better to read), ti conviene leggere il contratto attentamente prima di firmarlo.
